Skin Health with IV Therapy

Worldwide, skin brightening is the hot transformation trend of the moment.  Sun damage, medication side effects, medical conditions and hyper-pigmentaton all lead to an uneven skin tone. Those in the know take advantage of this beauty blessing to improve all areas of life – from work (especially if they are actors and models required to embrace the camera) to interpersonal relationships with significant others.  Not only will our Glutathione IV treatment benefit your skin, it will deliver health benefits to the smallest cell in your organs and entire body.

How does glutathione work?

Your skin’s pigmentation (skin colour) occurs because the body produces melanin. Melanin is produced by the melanocytes in the bottom layer of the epidermis.

When exposed to ultraviolet (UV) radiation, i.e. sunshine, biochemical factors are triggered in the skin to produce melanin. Melanin is produced by melanocytes, which are specialized cells found in the basal layer of the epidermis and dermis, and are responsible for your skin pigmentation (see above). The production of melanin by the melanocytes involves a number of steps, including the enzyme tyrosinase .

Depending on the melanin biochemical reactions, eumelanin or pheomelanin may be formed. Eumelanin, a black or brown pigment, is the most abundant type of melanin in humans. A higher abundance of eumelanin is usually the main reason why patients seek skin brightening treatments or suffer with areas of hyper-pigmentation. Pheomelanin is a red-yellow pigment found both in lighter-skinned humans and darker skinned humans.

In the presence of glutathione, pheomelanin, the red-yellow pigment, is formed instead of eumelanin, therefore providing us with the natural skin lightening effect we see with IV glutathione.

What about bleaching creams, peels and microderm abrasion?

Skin bleaching creams may damage, scar, inflame, discolour or irritate the skin. In some cases, they do not work nor change the skin. Bleaching creams may also contain mercury, a potent toxin, or hydroquinone, a drug and known skin irritant.

Skin peels may be useful for the face, but it is not realistic to peel the entire body. Peels can also be painful and irritating to the skin.

Microderm abrasion may help for the face, but is not appropriate for the whole body. It is also painful and may irritate the skin and sometimes worsen hyper-pigmentation.

IV glutathione is a safe and natural alternative to these treatments.
